This week in Language Arts students have started a new writing task. They are creating their own "Important Book" centered around the theme of nature. As a class, our current learning target is to write with proper sentence structure. Many students are starting sentences with "and" or "so" which is a habit we need to get out of!

In Math, grade three have been applying their knowledge of measurement to the concept of perimeter.

In Science, students continue to work on our combined units around testing materials and design and building devices that move. Today, they were challenged to think of how they could design a simple vehicle that would move by itself. It proved to be quite the challenge for many kids! Some great ideas they came up with were balloons and fans to use air to move the car, or winding an elastic around the axles. Stay tuned to hear about the fun cars they will be building next week!

This week in Social Studies students are diving deeper into our topic about early immigration to Alberta. We have gone back in time 120 years and are looking at original photos to see what life was like for early homesteaders.

Important Reminders:

This week we have a presentation on Thursday from the Royal Tyrell Museum. This presentation will go until 3:45. Therefore your child may be 5-10 minutes late leaving school on Thursday.

No school Friday!
