The countdown is on for Spring Break! Students have been busy wrapping up projects and units before their week off.
In Language Arts, students have now finished writing their Important Books. We are also reading a class novel called A Boy Called BAT.
In Math, grade 3 have finished their unit on measurement and perimetre. This week we are having some fun with mental math, and learning thinking strategies that can help us with math in the real world.
Science ended in a frustrating fashion. I had purchased a building kit to create cars. Unfortunately, the materials were very flimsy, and as hard as we tried to problem solve, most of our cars ended up breaking apart when we tried to make them move. It did teach us a lesson in patience and the importance of strong materials when building!
Our most recent Social Studies unit is wrapping up as well. Today, students completed a writing assessment where they answered our "Big Question" for the unit in paragraph form. Now, we are creating a huge timeline that shows how Alberta has transformed in the last 500 years.
Student-Led Conferences are this Thursday and Friday. Today, all students will bring home a package of work with instructions of how to share with parents. As a family, you can do this on your own any time. If you have questions or concerns you can book a virtual conference time with me.
Remember: No School Friday, and Spring Break next week!
