This week in Language Arts, we are continuing our focus on punctuation. The punctuation the students have learned and will be practicing are periods, exclamation marks, question marks, commas, and quotation marks. Some students do require additional practice at home on how to make lowercase letters.

In Math, grade three is measuring with metres! They have also been practicing estimation skills, and converting metres to centimetres.

Yesterday in Science, students tested their bridge designs. Then, they reflected on how they could improve their design if they were to do this again. Most students recognized that they needed to add more tension and compression to support the span of their bridge. We will continue to work on building and designing structures, including structures that move!

Today in Social Studies we are starting a new unit on early immigration. Students will be learning about how settlers came from Europe over 100 years ago and settled in the West.

March is nutrition month and that means we will be learning all about healthy choices and food science. Students are working together as a class to "eat the rainbow." Help your child out by packing them fruits and vegetables in their lunch every day.
