This week in Language Arts, students continued their Literature Circles. Both groups are set to finish next week. Students also began a cross-cirricular story about a day in the life of an Indigenous person living 500 years ago. They are challenged to use their Language Arts writing skills which including factual information from Social Studies. In Math, grade threes have perfected three multiplication strategies: skip counting, equal groups and arrays. They will have a quiz on Monday. On their quiz, they will have to "prove" their answer using one of the strategies form class. We had a very fun time in Science this week! Students were tasked with sound-proofing a box. I was quite impressed that everyone managed to make their box somewhat soundproof. Students found that soft materials like fabric and cotton do not vibrate as quickly as easily has hard materials.
